Life is filled with highs and lows, ups and downs, mountains and valleys. One day we’re on the mountain top, where everything seems to be going our way. Then something changes, and in a moment we’re in a valley, where it feels like nothing is going our way. The same can be true with faith. We have mountain top experiences, where God seems close, as well as times in the valley, where he seems far away.

We want our students to know that God is with them on the mountain and in the valley, and even when they don't see it or feel it, they can trust that God is always at work.

That’s why this month at InsideOut, we’re going to explore the ups and downs of life and faith through the story of an Old Testament prophet named Elijah. We’ll see that God is powerful on the mountain and present in the valley. We’ll talk about how to keep trusting God and taking the next step toward him no matter what. We’ll learn to listen when God is loud and when he speaks in a gentle whisper. And we’ll see that when we do these things, our faith today can shape someone else’s faith tomorrow.
