When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. Looking back at some of the choices we’ve made can be brutal. The aftermath of sin can crush us. Sin is not to be taken lightly, but it isn't the end of the story. Your choice to follow and accept the gift of Jesus leads to life. This is everlasting life beyond the grave and for your today, tomorrow, and however many days that follow.
