The month of November is a good reminder for all of us to be grateful people, and to experience the power of gratitude. I’ve learned that it’s not happy people who are grateful, but grateful people who are happy.
Here are two things we can do to be people who are healthy and growing, and who choose to be grateful.
1. Start with Gratitude.
Begin each day expressing your gratitude to God. Thank him for what he’s done in your life, what he’s currently doing, or what he will do. Ask yourself, “who or what do I need to express gratitude for today,” and then thank him. You may even want to write them down.
2. Express Gratitude to Someone.
Write a note or send a text each week to tell someone why you’re grateful for them. Expressing our gratitude for someone else is not only encouraging to them, but it also helps us see the impact others have in our lives. It’s healthy for our relationships.
