December Challenge

Gwinnett Tree with Christmas Lights

During the month of December, it can be easy to get caught up in the busyness of the season. There’s a lot to do and, while much of it is fun, it can also be a distraction from the significance of Christmas if we aren’t intentional.

We want to continue to prioritize growth—spiritually and relationally—through every season. This month, here are three things we can do to focus on growth.

1. Make Room for Jesus

The best way we can prepare for Christmas is to spend time with Jesus. To help you to do that, our team created a devotional for December. You can sign up to receive scripture and a short devotional thought each morning to focus your heart and mind on the gift we experience through Jesus.

2. Pay It Backwards

It can be easy to focus more on the things filling our calendars and to-do lists in December than focusing on others. But we want to be people who put others first. A simple way to do that is to pay for the person behind you in the drive-through. You never know how your small act of generosity might impact someone else.

3. Share Christmas

We’re excited to celebrate Christmas as a church on December 23 and 24. But these services are more than an opportunity for us to celebrate together; they are an opportunity to invite someone to experience Christmas with us. Maybe you have a friend or neighbor who needs to know that Jesus came for all of us—including them. Send a text. Make a call. Just ask.
