About the Process

Step 1: Attend Jump Start

Jump Start is a twenty-minute presentation where parents and kids learn together what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. It’s designed to help parents jump-start a conversation about faith. Jump Start takes place on Sundays several times throughout the year. Every child who is baptized at one of our churches must attend a Jump Start first.

Step 2: Listen

If your child is ready to be baptized, listen to a “parents only” audio talk.

Step 3: Watch

Watch a baptism explanation video with your child.

Step 4: Meet with us

This is a great opportunity for us to talk with you and your child before moving to the final steps of baptism preparation. We want to answer any questions that you or your child may have and hear about their decision to trust Christ as their personal Savior.

Step 5: Pick a Date

Pick a date to celebrate by choosing the Baptism Bash! that works best for your family. See upcoming Baptism Bash! dates.

Step 6: Record Video

The last step in the baptism process is for us to video your child telling his or her story about when he or she accepted Jesus as his or her Savior. Check out some of our UpStreet kids' baptism videos!

Step 7: Get baptized!

The purpose of our Baptism Bash! is to celebrate your child’s decision to follow Jesus and create a memory that you and your child will never forget!
